MARTIAL
CURRICULUM

A THOUGHTFUL APPROACH

INSTINCT MARTIAL offers a comprehensive martial curriculum to structure the learning of Kung Fu. It is important to note that belts are not used to compare students with one another, but serve primarily as markers of personal progression. Each belt represents a stage in the learning journey, both physically and mentally, and helps guide the development of each student, whether child or adult.

Kung Fu is a traditional martial art rooted in patience, consistency, and respect for the learning process. There are no shortcuts. The belt system supports step-by-step progression, with clear objectives adapted to each level of practice.

WHY A BELT SYSTEM?

Belts fulfill several important roles:

  • They provide structure and a clear learning framework;

  • They allow students to measure their progress over time;

  • They help instructors adapt instruction according to skill level;

  • They encourage motivation and perseverance;

  • They recognize effort, discipline, and consistency.

Each belt promotion corresponds to the acquisition of specific skills, rather than being based solely on time or seniority.

I am so proud of my son’s progress over the past year.
Long live Instinct Martial — I highly recommend it!

A CLEAR FRAMEWORK
AND STRUCTURED PROGRESSION

Taolu (forms) play a central role in the learning of Kung Fu. They allow for the progressive development of essential physical qualities, as well as focus, memory, and mental discipline. Serving as technical and pedagogical references, taolu transmit the principles specific to each level of the curriculum and support both the understanding of martial applications and the quality of movement. They ensure a coherent progression, in respect of tradition, for a solid and sustainable practice.
